Arad County (Romania)
Territory: 7652 km2
Population: 458.000 inhabitants
Arad county is characterized by a developed agriculture and a developed food industry. Other important branches of industry: machine, metallurgical and chemical industry.

Bacs-Kiskun County (Hungary)
Territory: 8362 km2
Population: 536.000 inhabitants
The region around the town Kecskemet, called Kiskunság (Minor Cumania). This area has a face of its own: it is characterised by the diversity of forms. The area west of Kecskemet is covered by something once known as migrating sand - then, a couple centuries ago, it was stopped by planting forests, fruit trees and vineyards. In the east, a large area of sandy loess joins Minor Cumania, providing excellent soil for the plough-lands.

Csongrad County (Hungary)
Territory: 4263 km2
Population: 424.000 inhabitants
Csongrád County is among the warmest regions of Hungary. The number of sunny hours per year is 2100. The climatic and geographic features are favourable for the land-specific plant production such as the onion of Makó, the spice red-pepper of Szeged or the peach of Szatymaz and in general for the whole agricultural branch. The rate of cultivable lands and the fertility of soils are better then the national average.
Caras-Severin County (Romania)
Territory: 8514 km2
Population: 331.000 inhabitants
Located in the southwestern part of the country, where the river Danube enters the Romanian territory, the Caras-Severin county is one of the largest counties in Romania. The county's main industrial sectors are mining, steel manufacturing and processing, machinery construction, as well as wood processing. Agriculture is also a very important occupation of the county's inhabitants. The county is also famous for its tourist attractions.

Timis County (Romania)
Territory: 8992 km2
Population: 661.000 inhabitants
The county has the largest surface in Romania. It has a developed agriculture, its agricultural production is the biggest in Romania. The industry is focused on fields like: high-tech, machine building, chemical, light industry and services.

Voivodina County (Serbia)
Territory: 21506 km2
Population: 2.032.000 inhabitants
This is the area with the developed industry of cables, steel ropes and steel ware, electro-technical machines and appliances, electric-porcelain, industrial tools, bolts, automobile and tractors spare parts, fertilisers, chemical and food products, tin plate wrapping material, textile, ready-made clothes, leather haberdashery, furniture, construction material, dental equipment and instruments and sanitation material and oil refinery. Trade and handicraft are also developed.

The project Borderless routes and adventures in the DKMT Euroregion is implemented under the Hungary-Romania Cross-Border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013 (www.huro-cbc.eu), and is part-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund and Hungary and Romania. The programme aims to bring the different actors - people, economic actors and communities - closer to each other, in order to better exploit opportunities offered by the joint development of the border area.
